About the retreat
This dreamy retreat is the perfect way to end the week as we give our body and mind a full spiritual cleanse. Enter into a state of tranquil as we begin with holistic breathing techniques from India (Pranayama) which are designed to reduce stress, reset your nervous system, cleanse your body, improve your anxiety and enhance self-awareness.
We will then glide into some gentle, beginner friendly restorative yoga using props such as blocks, blankets, chairs, cushions and straps. These will be slow and steady and are designed to improve flexibility whilst relaxing your muscles at the same time without straining.
The lunch will be half way through which will include a healthy selection of vegan & vegetarian foods which are full of nutrients (as well as a hot beverage and little treat!).
Once we have eaten, you will be getting cosy as we enjoy a magnificant sound healing session using a shamanic drum, a chinese gong and tibetan singing bowls. In sound healing, frequencies are used in the same way as breath in meditation: to influence shifts in our brainwaves. Sound healing works by activating the parasympathetic nervous system – the opposite of the stress flight or fight response.
We will then be finishing the day by creating fun and expressive abstract art that requires no experience. You will be shown how to enjoy the process of creating something spontanious and free. This will be relaxing, informal and did I mention, fun?

What do I need?
Comfortable clothing for the yoga is important to allow free movement. Extra layers is also important to bring in case it's chilly. The hall will have heating, but it's always good to have backup. If you need an inhaler, you must bring it to the retreat. If you take any medication during the day, please remember to bring it and inform us of any medical conditions when booking. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day (there will be drinking water and glasses at the hall but a bottle is less likely to spill fluid). For the art at the end of the day, you may want to bring an apron or old top to protect your clothes from paint. You will also need something to bring your artwork home in with you like a plastic bag, sheets or box to protect your car in case your painting is still wet. All art supplies and materials are provided. You won't need to bring a yoga mat or blankets/belts with you as you will be able to borrow them at the retreat. If you want to use your own however, you are more than welcome to. Lunch is provided at the retreat, so you must inform us of any dietary needs or allergies at least 3 days beforehand to allow us time to make alterations to the menu.
Is this suitable for me?
If you have any questions at all, or if you are unsure whether or not the retreat is right for you, please get in touch before booking. We try to adapt and cater the retreat to suit most people, however if you have any disability, injury, recently recovered from surgery, or struggle physically with moving / walking, you must get in touch before booking so that we can assess if the retreat is suitable and safe for you as we may be able to come up with adaptations that allow you to participate still. If you struggle with loud noises, strong smells or flashing lights, please let us know beforehand so we can discuss if there are ways in which we can make adaptations to allow you to feel comfortable at this event. There will be a diffuser with essential oils, an aurora star light which projects light on the ceiling and the instruments used for sound healing can be overwhelming for those sensitive to sound.
Health & Safety
It is your responsibility when booking that you inform us of any allergies, medical conditions or physical disability (Physical disability is defined as a “limitation on a person's physical functioning, mobility, dexterity or stamina” that has a 'substantial' and 'long-term' negative effect on an individual's ability to do normal daily activities.) You take part at this event at your own risk as everything has been risk assessed and the yoga instructor is a qualified yoga instructor, but all forms of movement can have at least a small risk of injury depending on the persons body, health or past injuries. Instructions during activities will be given clearly, with adaptations and variations to suit different people, but only you can feel what is right for your body and where your own limits are. It is important you do not push beyond what feels right for you.
Refund policy
Tickets at this retreat are non-refundable. You can give your ticket to somebody else however, should you be unable to attend - please make sure they let us know of any medical conditions beforehand and by allowing them to book, they agree to the terms and conditions of this retreat. We will also need their full name and contact details.
