Where is the venue?
The Old School Hall in Armathwaite doesn't come up on google maps but you can click this link here which has the google coordinates. Or, just head towards the Christ & St. Marys Church as the hall is right next to it. The church is on google maps so if you head there, you will be at the venue. It will look like an old school hall building and will have a little road that takes you around the back of it to its carpark. I will put signs up on the building the best I can to guide people to the entrance of the hall, and to the carpark. Never panic if you are struggling to find it - just give me a ring on 07826 793126. You will also be emailed details of the venue when you book. To avoid any stress, it's always best to allow plenty of time and arrive a little bit early.
What do I need?
Comfortable clothing for the yoga is important to allow free movement. Extra layers is also important to bring in case it's chilly. The hall will have heating, but it's always good to have backup. Bring suitable walking shoes or boots for the woodland walk and some waterproofs in case it rains. If you need an inhaler, you must bring it to the retreat and on the walk outside. If you take any medication during the day, please remember to bring it and inform us of any medical conditions when booking. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day (there will be drinking water and glasses at the hall but a bottle is less likely to spill fluid). For the art at the end of the day, you may want to bring an apron or old top to protect your clothes from paint/ glue. We wont be doing anything really messy, but it's always good to be prepared. You won't need to bring a yoga mat or blankets/belts with you as you will be able to borrow them at the retreat. If you want to use your own however, you are more than welcome to. Lunch is provided at the retreat, but if you would prefer to bring your own, you can, however the ticket price will be the same.
Is this suitable for me?
If you have any questions at all, or if you are unsure whether or not the retreat is right for you, please get in touch before booking. We try to adapt and cater the retreat to suit most people, however if you have any disability, injury, recently recovered from surgery, or struggle physically with moving / walking, you must get in touch before booking so that we can assess if the retreat is suitable and safe for you as we may be able to come up with adaptations that allow you to participate still. If you have autism and struggle with loud noises, strong smells, flashing lights or have social anxiety, please let us know beforehand so we can discuss if there are ways in which we can make adaptations to allow you to feel comfortable at this event.
Health & Safety
It is your responsibility when booking that you inform us of any allergies, medical conditions or physical disability (Physical disability is defined as a “limitation on a person's physical functioning, mobility, dexterity or stamina” that has a 'substantial' and 'long-term' negative effect on an individual's ability to do normal daily activities.) You take part at this event at your own risk as everything has been risk assessed and the yoga instructor is a qualified yoga instructor, but all forms of movement can have at least a small risk of injury depending on the persons body, health or past injuries. Instructions during activities will be given clearly, with adaptations and variations to suit different people, but only you can feel what is right for your body and where your own limits are. It is important you do not push beyond what feels right for you.
Refund policy
Tickets at this retreat are non-refundable, but are transferable. You must inform us at least a day before the retreat if you cannot attend to qualify for your transferable ticket. You can use your ticket value towards another retreat of your choice as a voucher - the voucher you get as credit for your ticket will have no expiry date, so you can use it whenever you like on a retreat or event in the future. You can also give your ticket to somebody else - just make sure they let us know of any medical conditions beforehand and by allowing them to book, they agree to the terms and conditions of this retreat.
