About the retreat
Feel your whole body and nervous system thank you after intensive healing with nature in the gorgeous Coombs Wood in Armathwaite at this grounding retreat. The first half the day will be outside in nature (don't worry, we will be walking with footwear on!) but we will find a peaceful spot to settle where we will be encouraged to take our shoes off and feel the earthing technique of forest bathing through our bare feet. After this, we will be laying on blankets, lovely and relaxed as I guide you through some powerful yet calming meditation to send you into a deep, healing state of mind. After this deeply peaceful start, we will re-ignite that fire again with a drumming circle whereby we all get to beat a drum (and even sing a little or chant!) as a confident-boosting way of releasing unwanted insecurities and boosting your mood. After this, we will eat lunch (you're required to bring a packed lunch for this event) in the woods before heading back to the hall for some root-chakra inspired yoga and journaling to help rewire thought patterns and create a healthier way of processing emotions with creative writing exercises (everyone gets a journal to bring home with them). Hot drinks and refreshments along with goodies will be supplied, of course!

Where is the venue?
The Old School Hall in Armathwaite is right next to the Christ and St Mary's Church on Front Street. Google Map Coordinates can be found by clicking here

Parking
There is a small car park around the back of the hall - the entrance is very narrow and not ideal for large vehicles but fine for normal size / small cars. Alternatively, you can park along the road near the hall but please note: you park your car at your own risk. Please be sure to allow enough time before the retreat starts to park your car safely. You can also park on the bridge going over the River Eden near the Dukes Head Inn pub.
What do I need?
Comfortable clothing for the yoga is important to allow free movement. Extra layers is also important to bring in case it's chilly outside (although we pray for sun!). If you need an inhaler, you must bring it to the retreat. If you take any medication during the day, please remember to bring it and inform us of any medical conditions when booking. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day (there will be drinking water and glasses at the hall but a bottle is less likely to spill fluid whilst we're doing yoga). For the walk, wear suitable walking shoes/boots and bring a raincoat and/or umbrella just in case it rains. You do need to bring your own packed lunch to this retreat, but there will be refreshments / hot drinks and snacks provided. I will supply the yoga mats and everything we need, however you are more than welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
Is this suitable for me?
If you have any questions at all, or if you are unsure whether or not the retreat is right for you, please get in touch before booking. We try to adapt and cater the retreat to suit most people, however if you have any disability, injury, recently recovered from surgery, or struggle physically with moving / walking, you must get in touch before booking so that we can assess if the retreat is suitable and safe for you as we may be able to come up with adaptations that allow you to participate still. If you struggle with loud noises, strong smells or flashing lights, please let us know beforehand so we can discuss if there are ways in which we can make adaptations to allow you to feel comfortable at this event. There will be a diffuser with essential oils, an aurora star light which projects light on the ceiling and the instruments used for sound healing can be overwhelming for those sensitive to sound.
What happens if it rains?
If it rains, we will still do the forest walk (make sure you have waterproofs and suitable footwear) but we will do the sound healing inside the hall, should the weather turn really bad.
Health & Safety
It is your responsibility when booking that you inform us of any allergies, medical conditions or physical disability (Physical disability is defined as a “limitation on a person's physical functioning, mobility, dexterity or stamina” that has a 'substantial' and 'long-term' negative effect on an individual's ability to do normal daily activities.) You take part at this event at your own risk as everything has been risk assessed and the yoga instructor is a qualified yoga instructor, but all forms of movement can have at least a small risk of injury depending on the persons body, health or past injuries. Instructions during activities will be given clearly, with adaptations and variations to suit different people, but only you can feel what is right for your body and where your own limits are. It is important you do not push beyond what feels right for you.
Refund policy
Tickets at this retreat are non-refundable. You can give your ticket to somebody else however, should you be unable to attend - please make sure they let us know of any medical conditions beforehand and by allowing them to book, they agree to the terms and conditions of this retreat. We will also need their full name and contact details.
