About this event - starts at 10am - finishes at 12:00pm on Sunday 29th September

We are collaborating with Mindful Alchemy for a very unique healing experience as we combine sounds together using traditional, holistic instruments that have been proven to help heal the mind and body.

Discover a whole new outlook on life with this sound healing event that will help you to relax, unwind and remove stress from your body and mind. Discover what it feels like to be transported through a dreamy, guided meditation, which will prepare you for the most peaceful sound bath which includes various intruments such as a gong, tibetan and crystal bowls, drums, chimes, ocean wave drums and more!

What to expect?

A short, guided meditation to set the mood

The first 15 minutes will be a short, guided meditation session that will take you through a journey to higher self. This will begin with some pranayama breathwork that is aimed to reset your nervous system & slow down your heart rate, allowing room to relax further. The meditation will be focusing on "finding your answers" and staying true to yourself, allowing you to stay on track in life and help you to follow your "own path" to happiness. It will be powerful, positive & refreshing. Then, we will be entering into deep sound healing. This is going to be transformative, healing & magical.

Sound Bath

This will make up most of the event and is the most immersive part. Claire (Mindful Alchemy) and Megan (Activate Yoga) will be delivering an atmostperic sound healing session, overlapping sounds together in harmoney, captivating your mind and allowing space to heal and truly relax.

The sound vibrations of the sound healing instruments penetrate deep into the tissue. This improves blood circulation and metabolism, regulates muscle tension and deeply stimulates the tissue. Moreover, regeneration and repair mechanisms are stimulated.  Sound healing is both activating and relaxing – so it also has a refreshing effect on the mind, helping people to switch off or find their answers by opening the doorway to their higher self.

Integral Sound Healing is used to alleviate symptoms caused by many conditions, including anxiety, PTSD, dementia, cancer, behavioural and psychiatric disorders, and much more. It also helps lower stress, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and the risk of heart conditions such as artery disease and stroke, whilst improving sleep quality and overall well being. Deep relaxation is the most significant benefit of sound healing, followed by its energetic deep tissue massage effect caused by the sound vibrations that open, clear, and balance the chakras, whilst releasing stuck energy. Ultimately, sound therapy supports our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, leaving us feeling balanced.

What do I need?

You just need to bring comfy, warm clothing as you will be laying down for quite some time (you are welcome to of course move/change position when you need to) - there will be blankets, cushions and mats, however depending on how many numbers we get, we advice that you bring cushions/blankets/bean bags - whatever is comfortable for you in case the spare get used up. Make sure you don't drink lots of fluid right beforehand as having a full bladder makes it very difficult to enjoy the experience to the fullest. Please also make sure your phones are off or on silent to avoid any disruptions during the session.

Where is the venue?

The Old School can be found on google maps by clicking this link here which has the google coordinates. Or, just head towards the Christ & St. Marys Church as the hall is right next to it. It will look like an old school hall building and will have a little road that takes you around the back of it to its carpark, however some people find it easier to park along the bridge just up from the Dukes Head Inn as the carpark to the hall is a little awkward to drive in and out of. The bridge is very wide and you can park right next to the pavement and leave your car there for the day and it's about a 5 minute walk to the hall from here. Never panic if you are struggling to find the hall - just give me a ring on 07826 793126. You will also be emailed details of the venue when you book. To avoid any stress, it's always best to allow plenty of time and arrive a little bit early. The address is:

Old School Hall, Front St, Armathwaite, Carlisle CA4 9PF

Is this suitable for me?

If you have any questions at all, or if you are unsure whether or not the event is right for you, please get in touch before booking. We try to adapt and cater these events to suit most people, however if you have any disability, injury, recently recovered from surgery, or struggle physically with moving / walking, you must get in touch before booking so that we can assess if the event is suitable and safe for you as we may be able to come up with adaptations that allow you to participate still. There are chairs at the hall if you prefer to sit rather than lying down. If you struggle with loud noises, strong smells or flashing lights, please let us know beforehand so we can discuss if there are ways in which we can make adaptations to allow you to feel comfortable at this event. There will be a diffuser with essential oils, an aurora star light which projects light on the ceiling and the instruments used for sound healing can be overwhelming for those who are sensitive to light, smells & noise.

It is normal to feel a lot of different emotions during any relaxation/meditation event so please don't worry if you feel like you need to cry - this can happen to some people and it is nothing to be embarrassed by. It's actually a good sign because you are releasing bottled up emotion that needed to come out - you are in a safe and non-judgemental space.

Health & Safety

It is your responsibility when booking that you inform us of any allergies, medical conditions or physical disability (Physical disability is defined as a “limitation on a person's physical functioning, mobility, dexterity or stamina” that has a 'substantial' and 'long-term' negative effect on an individual's ability to do normal daily activities.) You take part at this event at your own risk and we hold no responsibility for accidents as the venues have been risk-assessed. For relaxation and meditation events or retreats, we will be in the same position potentially for a long period, so it is vital that you are comfortable and not in pain. Inform the instructor and we can try and make alterations for you. If you are prone to blood clots due to a condition, then please bring compression socks to wear and let us know.

Refund policy

Tickets at this event are strictly non-refundable. You can give your ticket to somebody else however, should you be unable to attend - please make sure they let us know of any medical conditions beforehand and by allowing them to book, they agree to the terms and conditions of this event. We will also need their full name and contact details.
