About the event

About the workshop

This workshop is definitely going to get you in the mood for Christmas! This beginner friendly art workshop is going to be fun for everyone to take part in as you will be shown how to make beautiful wreaths using different methods and techniques. You don't have to be experienced in arts and craft to enjoy this event either - you just have to have fun! All materials will be included but you are more and welcome to bring along any pretty beads, dried flowers, potpourri, pinecones, buttons - any embellishments that you could add to your wreath to make it bling! But there will be plenty of things to use at this event. The materials will be a mix of felt, fabric, beads, artificial foliage and dried natural elements (such as dried orange slices/peel, leaves, pinecones etc.) There will also be delicious mince pies and warm mulled wine to enjoy whilst we get creative (as well as teas / coffees & biscuits).

Where is the venue?

The Old School Hall in Armathwaite doesn't come up on google maps but you can click this link here which has the google coordinates. Or, just head towards the Christ & St. Marys Church as the hall is right next to it. The church is on google maps so if you head there, you will be at the venue. It will look like an old school hall building and I will put some signs up to help direct people. Never panic if you are struggling to find it - just give me a ring on 07826 793126. You will also be emailed details of the venue when you book. To avoid any stress, it's always best to allow plenty of time and arrive a little bit early.

Where do I park?

The carpark at the back of the hall is very difficult to get in and out of, so from experience, you are better off parking along the road anywhere in the village (a good place to park is along the bridge ahead from the Dukes Head Inn - click this link here for the google map coordinates of the bridge which you can park on. It's a very short walk to the hall from here (about 2 minutes)

What do I need?

Clothes that you don't mind getting any glue, glitter or paint on (just in case!) or bring an apron. There will be teas, coffees, biscuits, mince pies and mulled wine to enjoy and there will be cold drinks too.

Is this suitable for me?

This event is great for anyone who loves crafting, but also those who haven't tried making things before but want to explore - it's beginner friendly and suitable for all age groups. If you have a disability, there is a ramp to get up into the hall and a disabled toilet. This workshop is for everyone to enjoy and take part in.

Health & Safety

It is your responsibility when booking that you inform us of any allergies, medical conditions or physical disability (Physical disability is defined as a “limitation on a person's physical functioning, mobility, dexterity or stamina” that has a 'substantial' and 'long-term' negative effect on an individual's ability to do normal daily activities.) You take part in this event at your own risk - although it's a very low-risk activity, there will be glue guns which get hot, so you must take extra care when using them. There will also be scissors and pins, so if you have children with you, they are soley your responsibility as their parent/guardian/carer and you must watch them when using certain tools/ materials. Children under the age 11 shouldn't use the glue guns without assistance from their parent/guardian who is with them.
